Crawling and Indexing are the two main functions of Search Engines. For better understanding Crawling and Indexing let us consider that any new city is built and various locations is to be given to highlighted according to their function then undoubtedly the agency would have to go through the each and every locations of such city and thereafter highlight the important locations.

Crawling

Similar to above written example, in the field of web designing the city is replaced by website or blog, various locations is replaced by various pages and articles and agency is replaced by Search Engines. Now the search engines have to find out various pages of the website which is known as crawling.

Indexing

And after finding out such pages means after the completion of crawling process, search engine highlights crawled pages on their results which is known as indexing.
